Greater Grace Christian Homeschool (GGCH) is an educational ministry of the Greater Grace Church of Baltimore under the Supervision of the Greater Grace Christian Academy administration. Our mission is to provide oversight for local GGWO homeschooling families as required under Maryland State regulations.
Eligibility
Enrollment with GGCH is currently limited to families living in the Baltimore area and attending the Greater Grace Church in Baltimore. Due to our novice status as an approved umbrella school, we will limit enrollment this first year (2008-2009), to 10 students. Also for the 2008-2009 school year, we will restrict high school student enrollment to veteran homeschooling students/parents ONLY.
Resources Available to the GGCH Student
Educational Consultation
After applying and prior to enrollment, the family is entitled to a one hour consultation meeting.
Field Trips
Students are encouraged to participate in field trips with his/her GGCA class, at no expense. Parents are expected to accompany their students on these occasions. We will make every attempt to give parents ample notice of these educational excursions. Younger siblings may not accompany the class on these trips: older siblings may be allowed upon request.
Library
Students may visit the GGCA library weekly and check out books. GGCH library hours will soon be posted online. Please note that the GGCA libraries will be relocated and renovated during the 2008-2009 school year, and accessibility may be limited.
Band/Sports
For a fee, GGCH students may join the GGCA band and receive private lessons, when available. Also, Middle School and High School students are eligible to participate in Fall/Winter Sports. (Refer to the GGCH Fee Schedule)
Chapel Services and Outreach
Homeschool students and parents are encourage to attend GGCA Chapel services whenever possible. Middle and High School students may participate in the lunch time outreach program upon request.
Drama/Musicals/Church Celebrations
Whenever possible, we encourage GGCH students to participate in any extra-curricular GGCA activities that occur after regular school hours. Parents are encouraged to communicate and collaborate with the band director/music teacher/youth worker/play director to incorporate their student(s) in these special events.
Special Events
Occasionally GGCA classes plan special events such as banquets, picnics or amusement park visits. GGCH students and parents are welcome to accompany the class on such occasions, but must pay the same expenses required of GGCA students.
